ICARUS Reader E800BK Firmware 2013_11 Description

To upgrade the firmware of your ICARUS 8, do the following:

1. Download the firmware files.
2. Unzip the file to a folder on your computer using a decompression tool like WinZip or 7Zip. Possibly you can do this even with your operating system’s functionality, but this depends on the version of the OS your computer has installed.
3. Open the file Upgrading software and driver
4. This file contains Batchtool _for_eink. open this file.
5. In this folder you will find another file also named Batchtool_for_eink. Open it.
6. Run the application RKBatchTool
7. Click on the button in the top right of the window. Go to the folder where you extracted the 3 files in step 2. Select the file with the extension *.IMG
8. The next screen will now show the firmware is loaded into the application
9. Keep the Page Back button pressed while connecting the cable to the computer. Connected Devices will now show one device connected in pink
10. Click on the Switch button
11. Now press the upgrade button
12. The upgrade process will now start. You will see a progress indicator (%) and the color turns to yellow
13. After a few minutes you will see a message
14. The firmware is now complete. You can remove the device via the ‘Safely remove hardware’ feature of your computer
15. Your e-reader is now ready for use again!
