Roland GW-8 Workstation Firmware 2.01 Description

Procedure for updating

1. After extracting the downloaded zip file, a “ROLAND” folder will be inside.
2. Save the “ROLAND” folder to the root directory of a USB memory device.
3. Turn on the power of the GW-8 and connect the USB memory device to the GW-8.
4. Press the USB IMPORT button.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Please do not modify the file or folder 
- The update will take approximately 4 to 5 minutes.

Caution when performing the update (Important !)

- Never power-off your GW-8 while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the GW-8 won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact a Roland service center if this occurs.
- Before you update, we recommend that you use the “Backup” function (refer to the Owner's Manual).
- Never transmit this update data to any product other than the GW-8.This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- After you perform the update, you must delete the update file from the USB-memory device.
- We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document. 

About Device Firmware:

Applying a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your unit can bring various enhancements, include workarounds for diverse problems encountered by the device, and improve or add newly developed features.
