1. Download the firmware. The file is packaged in a .zip archive and its name includes the model and version number, for example: Qu16UpdtV1_82_4387.zip. Save the file to your computer.
2. Remove any previo us Qu Firmware from your USB device. It is important to remove previous firmware files as the Qu mixer will attempt to load the first version it finds. The firmware file is in the root directory of the USB device and has a .QUU extension.
3.Unzip the folder and place the .QUU file in the root directory of your USB device.
4. Plug the USB device into the Qu-Drive port and run the Firmware Update Open the Setup / Utility / Firmware screen. If valid firmware is found its version number will be displayed on the screen.
- Updating Qu firmware does not affect its current settings and its stored Scenes and Libraries.
- Touch the Update button. The update will start. For Qu mixers the screen goes blank and the Pan control indicators flash in sequence while the update is running. For Qu-Pac the SoftKeys flash in sequence. After a while the mixer will reboot automatically. You may need to recalibrate the faders after the update.
- Do not remove power during the firmware update. Do not remove the USB device until the update has completed.
Updating the mixer’s firmware version can add support for newly developed features (or improve existing ones), enhance audio quality and transition effects, resolve different problems such as those regarding various noises heard in certain situations, and many other related improvements.
However, before downloading this package, go to the unit’s system information and make sure that the currently installed firmware isn’t either newer or matches this release. Moreover, you should know that an update failure might seriously damage the mixer’s software, so it is vital that you are familiar with the installation steps.
As for applying this release, you must transfer the downloadable package (or its content) to the mixer via any available methods, and power up the unit through various key combinations in order to enter update mode (make sure you read the product’s user guide).
This said, if you consider installing this release and you’re positive you have all the knowledge you need for a successful upgrade, download the package, and apply it to your mixer. Check with our website constantly so that you don’t miss any update that can improve your device.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
