Thecus N7700PRO v2 NAS Server Firmware 2.04.01 Description

New Features/Changes:

- Add AC power option in shutdown/reboot menu for N2800, N4510U, N4800, N5550, N7510, N4510U, N6580, N8850, N10850, N8900 series, N12000 series & N16000 series.
- Add bytes-per-inod option while RAID volume creating.
- Add compatibility for some SPF+ module with Intel 10Gb network card.
- Add NFS maximum connection dialog
- Add node /dev/fuse.
- Add progress bar while module uploading.
- Add support RAID1 migrate to RAID5 directly.
- Add support RAID5 migrate to RAID6 with additional 1 HDD.
- Add tune2fs in CONF.BIN
- Enhance iSCSI performance.
- Fine tune HA recovery UI for Firefox 16.0.1.
- Improve the RAID5 write performance.
- Modify & fix some UI wording.
- Modify wording about NAS shutdown & reboot.
- Optimized high energy consumed HDD support.
- Prevent HA recovery fail under some critical case.
- Prevent HA role exchange fail under some critical case.
- Prevent normal user doing admin action in some case.
- Prevent system log can’t save while disk fail.
- Prevent system showing “Media Server” in some case.
- Prevent UDPR not working in some case.
- Remove schedule setting in real time backup.
- Remove some overlapping icon under HA.
- Remove UI log after load system default.
- Support EXT4 expand over 16TB.
- Support user to create folder named “nsync”.
- Unify the Data Guard destination folder permission with source.
- Update N2800, N4510U, N4800, N5550, N7510, and N4510U kernel to v3.0.78, and others NAS to v3.4.45.
- Update SMARTCTL to v6.1.

Bug Fixes:

- Fix wording issue while primary server rebuilding, but system show as Secondary server recovering.
- Fix Data Guard task show "Processing" after finished in some case.
- Fix EXT3 LUN size up to 2048G.
- Fix HA RAID status missing in some case.
- Fix LDAP join fail in some case.
- Fix log function not working in some case.
- Fix MAC OS 10.6.8 can’t access NAS via SAMBA guest.
- Fix previous task would appear again in some case.
- Fix RAID expand not working in some case.
- Fix real time Data Guard not working in some case.
- Fix while add spare HDD for RAID rebuilding and system would beep for degraded.
- Fix while Thecus Setup Wizard configure IP address would lose the /etc/resolv.conf.

Attention:

- During firmware upgrade process, it is imperative that user DO NOT turn off the power to Thecus NAS or closes the browser window. This will lead to catastrophic result. If your browser is set to cache the screen, after firmware upgrade has started for 5 minutes, please press CTRL-F5 to reload browser screen from server instead of from browser cache.
- Thecus strongly recommends NAS admin to backup the RAID data before doing the RAID Migration and Expansion. There is potential risk of permanent data loss when doing Migration/Expansion with disk drives having physical problems, and Thecus is not responsible for any data loss and recovery expense.
- Enforce to enable the system beeper notification after firmware updated.
- When installing the Windows Wizard program of Thecus NAS on Windows XP Professional SP1 or SP2, Windows Vista, and newer OS, the firewall UDP ports 10000 and 10001 need to be opened.
- Reset to factory default function automatically resets all the system settings including network settings, administrator password, user groups, language setting, system notification setting, and time zone setting.
- Users should obey the international RF regulatory rules as they set up the wireless RF channel on the NAS. The RF operating channels for different regions have been specified as following. Thecus has no responsibility for users attempting to violate the international RF regulation. (11 for N. America, 14 Japan, 13 Europe, 2 Spain, 4 France)

Note:

- We recommend backup the RAID data before firmware upgrade. There is potential risk of data loss when upgrade the NAS firmware and Thecus is not responsible for any data loss and recovery.
- Since new version firmware installed, the new software doesn't allow users to downgrade to any previous version firmware.
- System Configuration Download/Upload does not support different software version. Reminder: After upgrade to latest firmware, download configuration and save separately

  It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
