Thecus N5550 NAS Server Firmware 2.04.05.7464 Description

New Features/Changes:

- Add N4510UPRO series / N7710 series / N8810U series support.
- Add nfsnobody for IPCAM & NFS client.
- Add Tehuti tn40xx driver V0.3.6.10.1 support.
- Change SAMBA option 'Allocated buffering size' to SAMBA/CIFS Group.
- Change the SYSLOG disable as default.
- Disable lazy init for inode table & journal while creating EXT4 volume.
- Improve Atmega LCM function for N7710 series / N8810U series support LCM backlight off.
- Improve logs for migration for RAID50 to RAID50.
- Improve performance while link aggregation in broadcast mode.
- Improve RAID6 writing performance.
- Improve UI design for in Russian and France.
- Improve while change SAMABA options and doesn't need to reboot NAS.
- Update Intel network driver e1000e-2.5.4/igb-5.1.2/ixgbe-3.19.1.
- Upgrade Cedraview graphic driver to Linux kernel v3.4
- Upgrade Linux kernel from v3.4.69 to v3.4.73.
- Upgrade LSI HBA driver update from P13 to P17.

Bug Fixes:

- Fix HDD spindown issue while AD function enabled.
- Fix IP sharing mode not working in some case.
- Fix online migration but some services not working.
- Fix SAMBA not working while server signing at auto enabled in some case.

Software Upgrade/Downgrade Note:

- We recommend backup the RAID data before firmware upgrade. There is potential risk of data loss when upgrade the NAS firmware and Thecus is not responsible for any data loss and recovery.
- Since new version firmware installed, the new software doesn't allow users to downgrade to any previous version firmware.
- System Configuration Download/Upload does not support different software version. Reminder: After upgrade to latest firmware, download configuration and save separately.

Attention:

- During firmware upgrade process, it is imperative that user DO NOT turn off the power to Thecus NAS or closes the browser window. This will lead to catastrophic result. If your browser is set to cache the screen, after firmware upgrade has started for 5 minutes, please press CTRL-F5 to reload browser screen from server instead of from browser cache.
- Thecus strongly recommends NAS admin to backup the RAID data before doing the RAID Migration and Expansion. There is potential risk of permanent data loss when doing Migration/Expansion with disk drives having physical problems, and Thecus is not responsible for any data loss and recovery expense.
- Enforce to enable the system beeper notification after firmware updated.
- When installing the Windows Wizard program of Thecus NAS on Windows XP Professional SP1 or SP2, Windows Vista, and newer OS, the firewall UDP ports 10000 and 10001 need to be opened.
- Reset to factory default function automatically resets all the system settings including network settings, administrator password, user groups, language setting, system notification setting, and time zone setting.
- Users should obey the international RF regulatory rules as they set up the wireless RF channel on the NAS. The RF operating channels for different regions have been specified as following. Thecus has no responsibility for users attempting to violate the international RF regulation.

  It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
