Casio EX-ZR700 Camera Firmware 1.01 Description

This package provides the necessary installation files of Casio EX-ZR700 Camera Firmware version 1.01.

Fixes:

- FlashAir W-02 Class 10 memory card support
- Do not change the preset wireless LAN startup image. The camera cannot recognize wireless LAN startup if this image is changed to a different one.

Checking your firmware version:

- On your EX-ZR700 camera, hold down the [MENU] button as you press the [POWER ON/OFF] switch to turn on the camera. Keep [MENU] depressed until the version of your camera's firmware appears on the monitor screen.
- If "VER 1.00" appears, you need to download this update software and install it on your camera.
- If "VER 1.01" appears, it means that your camera already is running the latest firmware version, so you do not need to install this update.

Requirements:

- To install this firmware update on your camera, you must copy it into the root directory (the top directory on the drive) of a memory card. Because of this, you need to have the USB cable (that comes bundled with the camera) on hand or a card slot available on your computer.

Installation steps:

1. Extract the file you downloaded.
2. Connect the camera to its USB cable and establish a USB connection with your computer.
3. Copy the extracted file (EX-ZR700.BIN) to the root directory (the top directory on the drive) on a memory card.
4. Remove the USB cable from the camera.
5. On your camera, hold down the [MENU] button as you press the [POWER] button to turn on the camera. Keep the [MENU] button depressed until the message "PROGRAM UPDATE" appears on the monitor screen.
6. On the "PROGRAM UPDATE" screen, move the highlighting from [NO] to [YES] by pressing. Next, press the [SET] button.
7. This starts installation of the update firmware, which is indicated by the message "NOW LOADING" on the camera monitor screen. The message "COMPLETE" appears when installation is complete.
8. After installation is complete, turn off the camera.
9. Check if the firmware version has been updated.
- If you copied the firmware update file (EX-ZR700.BIN) to a memory card, remove the memory card from the camera. Next, hold down the camera's [MENU] button as you press the [POWER] button to turn on the camera. Keep [MENU] depressed until the version of your camera's firmware appears on the monitor screen. If "VER 1.02" appears, it means that firmware update installation was successful.

Important notice:

- Note that installation of the update software cannot be undone. Once you install the update software, there is no way to restore your camera to its original firmware version.
- If firmware update installation is interrupted due to low battery power, your camera will no longer be able to operate. Be sure to make sure the camera's battery is fully charged before starting the firmware update installation procedure.
- When using battery power for installation, a safety feature makes it impossible to perform installation when battery power is low. Make sure the camera's battery is fully charged when using battery power for installation.
- After copying the EX-ZR700.BIN software to memory card, disconnect the USB cable from the camera before installing the firmware onto the camera. This firmware update cannot be installed while the USB cable is plugged into the camera.

About Digital Camera Firmware:

Updating to a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your camera can improve the device’s overall performance and stability, resolve various issues, and add support for newly developed features or enhance existing ones.

On the other hand, downgrading the camera’s firmware can recover its functionality in the unlikely event the currently installed version is faulty or the device’s performance dropped after an upgrade. However, bear in mind that applying an earlier build might not always be possible.

It is recommended that changing the camera’s firmware be performed when the new release resolves an issue that your device has been encountering, or adds a new feature (or enhances an existing one) that could prove useful for you.

This process isn’t intended to be destructive, but still, it’s best to save all your personal data and configurations before applying a different firmware. Moreover, make sure that the battery is fully charged and don’t use the camera’s buttons while the installation is in progress.

When it comes to the update method, usually, you must copy the firmware file onto a compatible memory card, insert it into the camera, and browse from the menu to the device’s update section.

However, each device has various ways to enter the update mode and particular steps that should be taken for a successful upgrade, therefore make sure you read the product’s installation guide.

That being said, if you consider that this firmware improves your device in any way, then hit the download button and get the desired version; if not, check with our website as often as possible so that you don’t miss the update that will boost your camera’s performance.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
