- Before updating the version, save images in camera memory to a computer or other device.
- Be sure to install both the camera and controller updates.
- Note that installation of the update software cannot be undone. Once you install the update software, there is no way to restore your camera to its original firmware version.
- If firmware update installation is interrupted due to low battery power, your camera will no longer be able to operate. Make sure the camera's battery is fully charged before starting the firmware update installation procedure.
- When using battery power for installation, a safety feature makes it impossible to perform installation when battery power is low. Make sure the camera's battery is fully charged when using battery power for installation.
- After copying the .BIN files to memory card, disconnect the USB cable from the camera before installing the firmware onto the camera. This firmware update cannot be installed while the USB cable is plugged into the camera.
- Installation of this software requires a USB cable to connect the camera controller to a computer.
- Extract the file you downloaded.
- Use the micro USB cable provided with the camera to establish a USB connection between the camera controller and your computer.
- While holding down the controller's movie button, press its power button and wait for a moment.
- The controller's operation lamp will flash, indicating that the controller is being recognized as a removable disk.
- Copy the extracted file (FR100CT.BIN) to the root directory (not in a folder) on the controller/removable disk.
- After you finish copying the files, disconnect the USB cable from the controller.
- This causes controller power to turn off automatically.
- Use the micro USB cable provided with the camera to establish a USB connection between the camera controller and your computer.
- While holding down the controller's movie button and shutter button, press its power button and wait for a moment.
- This will display a program update selection screen on the controller's monitor screen.
- On the controller, press the shutter button to start program updating.
- Program updating takes about two minutes to complete.
- The controller LED will alternately flash red and orange while program updating is in progress.
- Disconnection of the micro USB cable while program updating is in progress will stop program updating.
- If this happens, open the controller's USB cover, press the reset button, and then start again from step 6 of this procedure.
- Updating is complete when "SUCCESS" appears on the controller's monitor screen.
- After program updating is complete, turn controller power off and then disconnect it from your computer.
- Extract the file you downloaded.

- Connect the camera to its USB cable and establish a USB connection with your computer.
- Copy the extracted files (camm1500.BIN and rom.BIN) to the root directory (the top directory on the drive) on a memory card.
- After you finish copying the files, turn off the camera and then disconnect the USB cable from the camera.
- On the camera, hold down the camera's shutter button as you hold down the power button.
- The operation lamp will first light green.
- After some time, the operation lamp color will change to orange and the wireless LAN connection lamp will flash blue. This indicates that program updating has started.
- You can release the camera's shutter button and power button at this point.
- The wireless LAN connection lamp will stop flashing and go out while program updating is in progress.
- After some time, the operation lamp color will change to red.
- Updating is complete when the Operation lamp goes out.
- Check if the firmware version has been updated.
- Remove the memory card from the camera.
Updating to a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your camera can improve the device’s overall performance and stability, resolve various issues, and add support for newly developed features or enhance existing ones.
On the other hand, downgrading the camera’s firmware can recover its functionality in the unlikely event the currently installed version is faulty or the device’s performance dropped after an upgrade. However, bear in mind that applying an earlier build might not always be possible.
It is recommended that changing the camera’s firmware be performed when the new release resolves an issue that your device has been encountering, or adds a new feature (or enhances an existing one) that could prove useful for you.
This process isn’t intended to be destructive, but still, it’s best to save all your personal data and configurations before applying a different firmware. Moreover, make sure that the battery is fully charged and don’t use the camera’s buttons while the installation is in progress.
When it comes to the update method, usually, you must copy the firmware file onto a compatible memory card, insert it into the camera, and browse from the menu to the device’s update section.
However, each device has various ways to enter the update mode and particular steps that should be taken for a successful upgrade, therefore make sure you read the product’s installation guide.
That being said, if you consider that this firmware improves your device in any way, then hit the download button and get the desired version; if not, check with our website as often as possible so that you don’t miss the update that will boost your camera’s performance.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
