DisplayLink USB Graphics Driver/Utility 8.4 M2 Description

This is the R8.4 M2 product release, the second maintenance release of 8.4. It has been put through relevant system test and is suitable for deployment to end-users.

DisplayLink software release 8.4 delivers:

- HDCP 1.x capability on DL-6950 IC DisplayPort outputs on Windows 10 Creators Update onwards (build 15063, v1703) with platforms (Intel 7th generation CPU + GPU) and players supporting protected content over indirect displays
- DisplayLink DL-4100 monitor rotation sensor reporting through DDC/CI protocol
- Microsoft inboxed audio class driver used from Windows 10 Fall Creators Update
- Windows 10 Ethernet driver DCHU compliance
- Windows 10 video driver DCH compliance
- DisplayLink DL-6950 hardware mouse cursor on Windows 10 Anniversary Update onwards
- DisplayPort++ adapters now supported up to 4Kp60 on DisplayLink DL-6950 IC
- Windows 10 on Qualcomm Snapdragon 64-bit ARM SoC preview
- Other Windows 10 Anniversary/(Fall) Creators Update performance and reliability improvements

Issue fixed in 8.4 M2 release (8.4.3485.0/8.4.3480.0)

- Dell P2415 monitors connected to DisplayPort of DL-6xxx devices occasionally can remain blank after resume from S3 or S4. (27085)
- The DisplayLink driver can misread registry settings which would result in the driver failing to operate after an OS upgrade. This was a regression in 8.4 M0. (26882)
- 4Kp60 mode might not be available on LC-43UB30U TVs. (26859)
- Unreliable Dell M9N09 DP to VGA converter sometimes failed to offer 1920x1080 resolution. (26842)
- The default microphone level is set very low on DL-3xxx/DL-5xxx/DL-6xx0 devices. (26710)
- Pop noise can be heard when using MS Voice Recording on DL-6xx0 devices. (26709)
- Pop noise can be heard when plugging headset into a DL-6xx0 device. (26709)
- Ethernet auto negotiation could fail if only two pairs were present in the Ethernet cable on DL-3xxx/DL-5xxx/DL-6xx0 devices. (25749)

Known Issues and Limitations:

- When upgrading from R8.1, disconnecting and re-plugging the USB of the product using DisplayLink technology is necessary (25057, 25075)
- Windows 7 requires Microsoft KB3033929 or later installed to validate SHA-256 driver signature hashing. SHA1 has been deprecated (23965)
- Devices with mass storage or auto-install are not supported by Windows 10 Anniversary Update UMDF USB driver DisplayLink uses (21959)
- Windows 10 Anniversary Update sets the wrong preferred mode 9124025 (23871)

To install this package please do the following:

- Make sure that all system requirements are met.
- Save the downloadable package on an accessible location (such as your desktop).
