DisplayLink Software Release 7.9 delivers the following features:

Issues fixed in 7.9 M4 (7.9.1336.0):

- Microsoft Office protected view is crashing when using hardware graphics acceleration. This was a regression in the 7.9 M3 release (20998)
- Important audio delay when unplugging USB 3.0 dock whilst headphones are connected. (20674)
- HDMI audio is lost after the system resumes from sleep. (20660)
- Display is switching between extend and mirror for OEM software packages with mirror mode as the default DisplayLink behaviour. (20638)
- First connection is extended mode for OEM software packages with mirror as default behaviour. (20636, 20543)
- The DisplayLink software does not install from the Windows driver store when the logged in user does not have Administrator privileges on Windows 7.(20631)
- Fit-to-TV takes a long time to start in mirror mode on Windows 10 for some DisplayLink products. (20624)
- Black screens when upgrading independent hardware vendor (IHV) driver on Dell XPS 13. (20078)
- On a few PCs, with USB selective suspend enabled and using DisplayLink audio, the DisplayLink device can disconnect and reconnect occasionally when moving windows across screens. (21188)
