- Fixed an issue where MIDI program change messages were not being sent every time the preset changed, regardless of whether the change was initiated from the Mustang Floor buttons, the MS-4 buttons, Fender Fuse, or the MIDI input
- Fixed a bug where MIDI control change messages being transmitted were backwards (heel and toe were reversed on the Volume/Expression pedal)
- Fixed a bug where the MIDI "off" option for the pedal and switch TX control change numbers were being ignored
- Fixed a bug where the MIDI Receive/Transmit channels were not being set immediately after changes (Utility mode)
- Fixed a bug where selecting a MIDI Channel of "10" was incorrectly being displayed as ":" (Utility mode)
- Fixed a problem which could cause the Mustang Floor to lock up when Simple Comp or 'None' effects are used, and their effect category has already been configured for pedal control (Pedal mode)
- Fixed a bug where bypassing amp models disabled both the Mute and Volume pedal functionality
- Fixed a bug where noise gate was not bypassed with bypassed amp models
1. Press and hold UTIL while powering on, UTIL LED should light up for 1 second.
2. Move the expression pedal between the desired heel and toe endpoints to set the range.
3. Turn the encoder knob to the next Preset to complete the process.
Note: If an external EXP-1 pedal is connected at the time of calibration, both pedals will need to be calibrated at that time. A Factory Restore also initiates the expression pedal calibration process.
Your Fender Mustang Floor unit's firmware can be updated by the user with the Fender FUSE software and your unit connected. To do this, please follow the steps below.
1. Go to the Main Menu (top left hand side in the Fender FUSE user interface), and select Utilities and Update firmware.
2. Turn off the power on your Fender Mustang Floor. While holding the Data Wheel, turn the power back on. A dialog window will open. Here you will choose either the bundled firmware update file or you can browse for the firmware file you would like to update to. (The current Mustang firmware version can be downloaded under Related Downloads below)
3. Once you have selected the correct firmware file, select it, and Fender FUSE will automatically begin the firmware update process.
4. Once the firmware update is complete, turn your Fender Mustang Floor off and back on. At this point, the update process is complete.
Note that a Factory Restore will require that the built-in pedal and the Explession pedal (EXP-1) if used will need to be recalibrated. Please see the instructions below to recalibrate your EXP-1 pedal. If an external EXP-1 pedal is connected at the time of calibration, both pedals will need to be calibrated at that time.
Applying a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your unit can bring various enhancements, include workarounds for diverse problems encountered by the device, and improve or add newly developed features.
On the other hand, downgrading the firmware version can recover the device’s functionality in the event of a software update either turning up faulty or causing the unit’s overall performance to drop. However, bear in mind that applying an older firmware isn’t recommended and might not always be possible.
When it comes to the update steps, due to the large variety of devices and numerous ways for installing a new firmware, it is recommended that you carefully read and understand the upgrade steps, and consider applying a different firmware only when you have familiarized yourself with the update method.
As the installation process is most of the times quite risky, this step should be taken by users that have the ability to successfully complete the update; regular users may initiate it at their own risk. Moreover, it’s best that this task be performed in a steady power environment such as the one ensured by a UPS unit.
Therefore, if you consider applying this release, hit the download button, take into account all the aforementioned aspects, and update the device’s firmware. Also make sure you constantly check with our website to ensure that you don’t miss a single new release.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
